Moving out on your own is hard enough without discovering that your landlords are ancient vampires. That’s the predicament facing Sandra in The Teenage Vampire, an upcoming horror film from Lionsgate that has just released its first trailer ahead of an October 27 digital debut. Jazlyn Nicolette Sward stars as Sandra, an 18-year-old who moves into a bungalow in the Hollywood Hills expecting her newfound independence to involve parties, romance and everything else that comes with leaving home. Unfortunately, the people living in the main house have other plans.
Sandra’s seemingly friendly landlord Viktor, played by James Chalke, has a habit of disappearing during daylight hours. That’s because he and his partner Isabelle are vampires — and when Sandra decides to throw a party for her friends, the gathering provides them with a ready-made supply of victims. The newly released trailer suggests that the resulting attack isn’t going to be particularly restrained.
There’s More to Sandra Than Meets the Eye
The trailer also teases a mystery beyond the carnage. Sandra finds herself strangely drawn to Viktor, while old photographs appear to show a woman who looks remarkably like her. Whatever Viktor wants with his new tenant, apparently it goes considerably deeper than having her friends for dinner.
The cast also includes Kelly Lynn Reiter, Luke Gregory Crosby, Courtney Akbar and Michael Cervantes, along with Spice Williams-Crosby, who plays Isabelle. Star Trek fans may recognize Williams-Crosby as Vixis, the Klingon officer from 1989’s Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
Frank Mora directed The Teenage Vampire and co-wrote the screenplay with Asif Akbar. Grindstone Entertainment produced the film, with Lionsgate distributing. Interestingly, Lionsgate’s current materials list 2022 as its year of production, meaning the film is only now reaching audiences four years after it was made.
The Teenage Vampire will be released On Demand and Digital on October 27, 2026, just four days before Halloween.
