At just 15 years old, Ryan Kiera Armstrong has been cast as the lead in Hulu’s upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, stepping into the role of the new Slayer alongside returning star Sarah Michelle Gellar. Gellar, who will reprise her iconic role as Buffy Summers in a recurring capacity, shared the casting news in a heartfelt video, expressing her admiration for Armstrong’s talent and emotional depth.

A Rising Star

Born on March 10, 2010, in New York City, Armstrong is the youngest of five children to Dr. Berta Bacic and actor Dean Armstrong. She began her acting career at the age of 7, portraying Minnie May Barry in the Canadian series Anne with an E from 2017 to 2019.

Her film debut came in 2019 with The Art of Racing in the Rain, where she played Zoë Swift. She gained further recognition with roles in It Chapter Two (2019) as Victoria Fuller and Black Widow (2021) as Young Antonia Dreykov. In 2022, she starred as Charlie McGee in the remake of Stephen King’s Firestarter.
