That out of the way, the final tag scene in the new MCU entry features Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman about to reach out and grasp “The Ebony Blade.” As he’s about to do so, a voice asks if he’s sure he knows what he’s doing. That voice has been confirmed to be Mahershala Ali, the actor chosen to bring the vampire character of Blade to life in the MCU. While this video from ScreenCrush doesn’t confirm the news, Ali himself has. The video offers an inside look at the Ebony Blade and its connection with the day-walking member of the undead. For his part, the actor shared the following with Empire: “It was really cool getting to do that, [but] it was scary, because you’re talking before you’re filming it. I’m pretty particular about my choices, like most actors, and so having to make some choices — even with a line, vocally — this early on, it brought up some very real anxieties. And it made the job real. It’s, like, ‘Okay, this is happening now,’ and that’s exciting.”
